Project: Qtec mini case (Name suggestions welcome). Part 1

THE CASE

Well then it has happend. I've finally gotten around to start uploading one of my projects. The case that will get it's ass modded out (maybe a bit stretched but ehh..) is a generic Qtec mini/midi case that i got for free. I think i'll show you some pictures of it now inststeed of writing more crap.

Well as you can see the previous owner had done some drilling on one of the sidepanel's, that i really dislikes but ehh... didn't pay anything for it either so. Also i hate the placement of the PSU. Well... what else can one say about the case, not much.. so i just think i'll move on to the plans.

THE PLAN

Well this case ain't gonna house some uber watercooling setup, but rather a nicley aircooled MATX system that will problary be running some Linux dist. So one of the main thing in this project is to make a hole new back plate (or what you wanna call it). Then the lower part of the front will be modified to house a 120mm fan. Then the left over "V" from the lower part of the front will be modified to a door that will cover the three 5.25" places. Also a LCD display will be installed in the bottom 5.25" place. Other thing to be done is pretty standard things like: lightning it up, painting it, make a window for it etc. etc. So to round of the plans i will make a short "ToDo list":

• Makin a window
• Making a hole new back plane
• Modifie front to house a 120mm fan
• Making a door to cover the 5.25" places
• Making a hole new right side sidepanel?
• Installing a 2x16 LCD
• Lightning it up, color = red
• Painting it. interior = gold, extorior = black

Note. The list above isn't necessery the only modification the case will go through, but are those that i have in mind for now. If anybody think they have some great ideas what to do with this case then don't be afraid of sending them do me, just go to contacts and send me a line.

Well with that said i think i'm done with writing about the plan, so i think it's time for conclussion of part 1

CONCLUSSION

So that was it for part 1 of my first project on my site. I guess some of you readers may be bitter because i didn't show any modding in this part, but i thought it was better to make a introduction part before going onto the modding itself. I hope to have this case finished in about a month. Part 2 of this project will probably be up in about a week (hopefully), and will probably focus mostly on the front of the case. Until then, if anybody could come up with a good name for this project i would be extremly happy (just send me a line). And if anybody finds any wrong spellings in this text then also send me a line.
